Alberto Biasi

Alberto Biasi was born in Padua in 1937 and is one of the greatest national and international exponents of Kinetic Art or Optical Art. Among the undisputed protagonists of the History of Art of the Second World War in Italy, since 1959 - when he was very young he formed the Group N in Padua - to date, his activity has moved under the banner of perceptual investigation, through cycles of works that have poetically and scientifically addressed the problems related to vision. The attention to sculpture is underlying in all his artistic production: aluminum, corten steel and methacrylate are the means of Biasi's challenge to three-dimensional space, addressed in the large measures of works such as vertically developing slabs, totems, interrupted spirals, helices of dense metal tubes that become reinventions, transpositions, results of the artist's constant research in the field of visual perception. His works can be found at the MOMA in New York, the Hermitage in St. Petersburg, the Center Pompidou in Paris, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, the National Gallery in Rome, the Muzeum Sztuki in Lodz and the Museums in Belgrade, Buenos Aires. , San Francisco, Tokyo, Ulm and Prague.
