Bertozzi & Casoni

Giampaolo Bertozzi (Borgo Tossignano, Bologna, 1957) and Stefano Dal Monte Casoni (Lugo di Romagna, Ravenna, 1961) trained at the State Institute of Art for Ceramics in Faenza and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna.
In the 1980s they collaborated with the Imola Ceramics Cooperative as researchers in the Experimentation and Research Center on Ceramics and with K (Keramikos). International ceramics magazine. Since the nineties, their works have conquered a higher level of physical presence, have enjoyed critical acclaim and are exhibited in temples dedicated to art and design, in national and international museums and galleries.
Among the exhibition opportunities are: Tate Liverpool and Quadriennale di Roma (2004), Sperone Westwater, New York (2005, 2010, 2015, 2021), Ca 'Pesaro, Venice (2007), Castello Sforzesco, Milan (2008), All Visual Arts, London (2012), Museum Beelden aan Zee, The Hague and Beck & Eggeling, Düsseldorf (2013), Palazzo Te, Mantua (2014), Expo, Milan (2015), GAM, Palermo (2016), Museum of Palazzo Poggi, Bologna and Civic Art Gallery, Ascoli Piceno (2017), Rossi & Rossi Gallery, Hong Kong (2018), MARCA, Catanzaro and Morandi Museum, Bologna (2019), Sant'Agostino Complex, Pietrasanta (2020).
In 2009 and 2011 they participated in the Venice Biennale, Italian Pavilion.
In 2017 he inaugurated the Bertozzi & Casoni Museum at the Cavallerizza Ducale in Sassuolo, a permanent space that collects a selection of the most significant works of their artistic production.
