Felice Levini
Felice Levini was born in Rome in 1956 where he lives and works. Its first presence in Rome dates back to 1978 in the self-managed space of Sant'Agata de 'Goti and at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni.
The following year follows an important solo show at Studio Cannaviello in Milan. In 1980 the so-called formation of the new-new was born under the aegis of the critic Renato Barilli. With the exhibition at the Galleria La Salita in Rome in 1981, Levini radicalizes his work by adding the ironic element that will characterize his works from then on. 1985 marks the artist's participation in the 1980s exhibition held in Bologna at the Galleria Comunale d'Arte Moderna. Among the personal ones to remember: the exhibition at the Pieroni Gallery in Rome and at the Massimo Minini Gallery in Brescia.
Among the group shows: Italian: the new image, 1980, at the Loggetta Lombardesca in Ravenna and the exhibition Ten years later: I Nuovi-Nuovi, Municipal Gallery of Modern Art, Bologna. In the same year Levini is present at the XII Biennale des Jeunes, in Paris and at the exhibition A post-modern generation at the Falcone Theater in Genoa. In 1984 he exhibited at the Castello di Volpaia in Radda in Chianti and two years later at the Italian itinerant review: 1950-1986 in Zaragoza, Valencia and Madrid. In 1988 he was invited to the XLIII Venice Biennale / Aperto 88.
In 1991 he exhibited at the XXXIV Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, in 1993 he was again present at the XLV Venice Biennale / La coexistence of art, in 1996 at the XII Quadrennial in Rome. In 1998 he participated in Summer Solstice 3 in Serre di Rapolano (SI) and in Sarajevo 2000 at the Palais Liechtenstein in Vienna.
In 2002 the personal Meridiano celeste (Remote Action) at the Roman Aquarium and in 2004 the one entitled There is no at the Volume Foundation! as well as participation in Cabinet desdessins at the Musée d'Art Moderne in St. Etienne. The following year he is present at the Aichi Universal Exposition, in Japan.
In 2008 at MediationsBiennialPoznán and in 2011 in the exhibition Compagni di viaggio at GalerijaMestna in Ljubljana. In 2013 he participated in the Seventies in Rome, Palazzo delle Esposizioni and in Camere XIX at RAM radioartemobile, Rome.
Among his most recent solo shows, we should mention those at the National Gallery of Modern Art (2013), in Zagreb in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute (2015) and at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome (2016). He participates in the exhibitions A tutto tondo - Contemporary Paths in Alghero (2017), at the Biblioteca di Tutti in the Library of the University of Sassari (2018) and at the ParkviewMuseumBeijing and Singapore (2019).
Currently with a solo show: “horizon of events” curated by Zerinthia at the Carlo bilotti museum, Rome.
