Francesco Riva

Francesco Riva for friends Cecco, born in Bogno di Besozzo and moved from the age of 4 to Gemonio, and from the age of majority I have been involved in the social life of the town.
My passion is reportage photography, telling with images is a state of my personality, where the search for symbols, places, sounds, people's gestures have a meaning of beauty, which satisfies a creative need.
I started as a boy, with the gift from my parents of the first camera, the Bencini Koroll II. With the research of old photographs of the town, the setting up of Gemonio's exhibitions over time ... and the organization of photography courses for schools, the passion grew. I was a young president of the Pro Loco and there was no lack of enthusiasm, at a time when photography was experiencing one of the most interesting and creative moments in its recent history. For some years I became a video amateur, I exhibited in photographic exhibitions, I participated as an official reporter in the humanitarian expedition of the clown-doctors of Laughing for Living in the Cape Verde islands. I've met artists, I've listened to stories of invisible people and told them, I've made new friends and ... I'm not done yet.
