Giovanna Giachetti

Giovanna Giachetti was born in La-Chaux des Fonds in 1964. She spent her entire childhood in Nigeria, completed her high school studies in Switzerland, before attending the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin. After that she spent many more years in Africa.
You currently have a studio in Canavese and one in Milan.
From clay, to which he gradually added more and more recycled materials, in 2015 following a fortuitous "encounter" with sheet metal, he abandoned the practice of modeling to exclusively experiment with the processing of iron sheet, up to obtaining real and own installations floating in space.
Lastly comes the suspended, aerial textile work, which also blooms on a very poor and "ugly" material, because the artist's need is precisely to broaden his gaze towards unexpected dimensions to recover them to art, returning them a chance to be seen acquiring a noble dimension.
