Paola Pezzi

Paola Pezzi was born in Brescia on 10 October 1963, she lives and works in Milan. In the early eighties she moved to Milan, where she attended the Brera Academy of Fine Arts and attended, among others, the courses of Zeno Birolli and Luciano Fabro. At the invitation of the latter and Jole De Sanna, in 1985 he participated with other newcomers in an exhibition in the spaces of the Casa degli Artisti in Milan, which was followed by collective exhibitions of the importance of the Saatchi & Saatchi Prize at the Palazzo delle Stelline, always in Milan in 1988, with the consequent purchase of more works, now part of the famous London collection, of Examples. New Italian art at the Riversides Studios, in London, and of FABBRICA, organized by Massimo Minini in an abandoned industrial building in via Apollonio in Brescia, both in 1989; or Imprevisto, curated by Luciano Pistoi in the Volpaia Castle in Radda in Chianti in 1991.
Her first personal exhibition took place in 1990, in the Franco Toselli Gallery, in Milan where, in addition to participating in numerous group exhibitions, she will also hold individual exhibitions in 1991, 1994, 2004 and 2009.
Starting from the mid-nineties, Paola Pezzi's progress was marked by important stages, such as the personal exhibition at the National Gallery of Modern Art in Rome in 1995 and the acquisition of some works, as well as from the National Gallery itself, by by Giuseppe Panza di Biumo, as well as from the collaboration with galleries such as Micheline Szwajcer in Antwerp, Victoria Miro in London, Simonis in Paris, Toselli, Ca 'di Fra, Cardi and Galleria Blu in Milan, Massimo Minini in Brescia, G7 in Bologna, Dina Caròla in Naples and Martano in Turin.
