Virginia Carbonelli

Virginia Carbonelli was born in 1980 in Rome, where she lives and works in her studio in via di San Martino ai Monti. In 1999 she graduated from the Art School, approaching graphic techniques for the first time with Giulia Napoleone. In 1998 she attended an engraving course at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. In 2000 she attended a drawing and painting course at the S. Giacomo School of Ornamental Arts in Rome with Giovanni Arcangeli. From 2001 to 2003 she attended various chalcography courses at private Roman studios and laboratories / the laboratory of Luce Delhove and Mario Teleri Biason), specializing in the art of printing and artistic engraving. In 2004 in Urbino she attended a specialization course in chalcographic techniques at the International Center for Artistic Graphics - Kaus. In 2005 she graduated in Arts History of Arts with a thesis in Social History of Art. In 2007 she approaches photography and in 2008 the restoration and binding of books with Milena Alessi. In 2008 you opened the_lineaartecontemporanea in Rome, a cultural association dedicated to printing and artistic engraving in which you teach engraving courses and organize workshops on experimental and traditional printing. In 2011 she graduated from the "Roberto Rossellini" State Institute for Cinematography and TV. In 2012 you attended a theoretical and practical seminar on the engraved sign, held by Guido Strazza at the National Academy of San Luca in Rome. Since 2016 she has been collaborating for three years with HD Edizioni, a small private press, which produces artist books in Rome in Marina Bindella's studio. In 2018 she follows her workshops by invitation at the Temple University of Art in Rome on photopolymer printing and photoengraving and electroengraving techniques. From 2018 to 2020 she teaches at the Asl di Roma 2 in Cinecittà, in the Day Center, mental hygiene department, engraving and printing techniques.
