THE OVERTURE
The realization of the Overture for the fourth edition of the International Salieri Circus Award stems from the collaboration between the Salieri Circus Academy and the German company Scenic Circus, with choreography by Gulnara Savenko, Elena Grossule, and Giada Marchese, performed to the music of Antonio Salieri's opera Falstaff.
The performers are eight young Ukrainian dancers and circus artists currently living between Budapest and Berlin, along with two acrobats from the Salieri Circus Academy. The production was made possible with the essential support of Péter Fekete and the Capital Circus of Budapest, as well as significant co-funding from the European Union.
This prestigious international collaboration highlights the importance of art as a bridge between different cultures and provides an opportunity for redemption to young Ukrainian talents building a new life abroad.
The eight Ukrainian performers are Mila Andriievska, Alisa Astapova, Elizabeth Dolga, Sergej Ivanov, Daria Krueger, Veronika Krukovska, Viktoriia Shevchenko, and Markian Strotsiak, while the Salieri Circus Academy performers are Elisa Colombo and Sara Mezzari.
The International Salieri Circus Award was established four years ago in the city where Antonio Salieri was born, inspired by him to create an innovative and unique festival that blends circus arts with live performances of symphonic music by both classical and contemporary composers.
Conceived and produced by Proeventi, promoted by ANSAC - Associazione Nazionale Sviluppo Arti Circensi and Fondazione Teatro Salieri, the festival is realized with the support of the italian Ministry of Culture, the Municipality of Legnago, Camera di Commercio di Verona and under the patronage of the Regione Veneto and the Provincia di Verona.
