The work of the famous photographer Paolo Roversi, is celebrated showing the “NUDI” series, curated by Silvia Bettoli.
The “NUDI” collection was chosen for its ability to represent Roversi's art as the "painter of images".
"Roversi's photography focuses on ethereal fashion with an eye of melancholy, and NUDI reflects this."
The exhibition sees, in retrospect, full-length portraits, stripped of the emphasized sexuality that can be found in fashion, while presenting grace and universal humanity instead.
The series, published as a photographic book in 1999, by the Stromboli publishing house, collects stills made by Roversi over ten years. They include portraits of Guinevere van Seenus, Kristen McMenamy, Kate Moss, Audrey Marnay, Angela Lindvall, Tatiana Patitz, Kirsten Owen, Malgosia Bela, Karen Elson, Stella Tennant, Devon Aoki and many more.
12 precious shots, unique pieces, printed in platinum.
The exhibition is set up in the chapel of Palazzo Baronio in Ravenna, the birthplace of Roversi. The eighteenth-century palace, at first residence of noble Ravenna families, has been the seat of the Circolo Cittadino since 1860 and for over 120 years. Now Art Museum.
