Arte Laguna Prize. Finalist exhibition

With the exhibition of 240 works, by as many artists from over 50 countries, Arte Laguna Prize presents from 11 March to 16 April 2023 the exhibition of the finalists of the 16th and 17th edition, which from 2021 takes place every two years.

The extraordinary space of the Arsenale Nord in Venice, with its 4000 square meters, welcomes the works selected in the last two editions for each of the ten categories of the award: painting, sculpture and installation, photographic art, video art and short films, performance, digital art , digital and cartoon graphics, land art, urban art and street art, art design.

The finalists were chosen from over 20,000 candidates by two juries, one for each edition, made up of curators, museum directors and international art experts. The two winners – who will be announced during the opening of the exhibition on Saturday 11 March – will be awarded a prize of 10,000 euros each.

There are also numerous and relevant Special Awards which include the production of works, residencies all over the world, the possibility of exhibiting in important Italian and international galleries and festivals, collaborations with companies and cash prizes.
Arte Laguna Prize thus confirms itself as one of the contemporary art competitions with the most opportunities for artists.

Born in 2006 on the initiative of the cultural association MoCA, Arte Laguna Prize has proven itself in seventeen years of activity attentive to the most current demands of the art world and beyond.
The same categories of works that can be proposed today have evolved over time following the most contemporary trends and always including new forms of expression: from art design, with the presentation of productions that arise in the artistic field and then find their application in the world of the industrial project, to graphic art and cartoons, up to the very recent admission of works of art certified with NFT, i.e. those artistic forms which envisage the digitization of a physical work or the creation of a digital work.
On the other hand, with regard to attention to current issues of general interest, it is worth mentioning those Special Awards that concern environmental issues such as the "Art and Sustainability" award, dedicated to works, products or artistic projects that enhance RRR strategies (Reuse, Reduce, Recycling) and their positive impact on nature and on citizens' lives, and the BigCi residency aimed at environmental issues which will take place in Australia within the Wollemi National Park.... read the rest of the article»
