Audrey Coïaniz. #BLACK&WHITE

As part of ART CITY Bologna 2023 on the occasion of ARTEFIERA, the Carlo Gajani Foundation presents #BLACK&WHITE, a solo exhibition by Audrey Coïaniz of the BASMATI VIDEO duo, curated by Luca Monaco and Giuseppe Virelli. Within the spaces of the Foundation, the artist has elaborated a site-specific exhibition divided into two moments: one focused on pictorial works of an abstract-informal matrix that refer to the early works of the Bolognese artist; the other on a video-sculpture made with very light and transparent fabrics crossed by computer-generated graphic-geometric images that dialogue from a distance with Gajani's Pop period. The idea is to ideally immerse the viewer in a space-time vortex in which paintings and digital drawings "inspired" by the Bolognese artist float suspended between reality and virtuality.

Audrey Coïaniz was born on the island of La Réunion in 1978, lives and works between Bologna and Marseille. She graduated from ESBAM in Mareille-Luminy with a specialization in Architecture and spatial design. As a visual artist, he develops research on the concepts between body, space and movement, creating digital video-animation works, live performances, installations. He has participated in many well-known festivals in Europe with screenings and live performances and has exhibited in international galleries and museums.
