Capsule Venice presents Liao Wen, Mevlana Lipp and Alessio de Girolamo

Capsule Venice is pleased to present to the public its fall programme which will be hosted at Fondazione Marchesani from September 21. The programme features the solo exhibition By devouring it, I learn about the world by Chinese artist Liao Wen on the upper floor of Capsule's Venetian space and two special projects, Vista by German artist Mevlana Lipp in Project Room 1 and Real Time by Italian artist Alessio de Girolamo in Project Rooms 2 and 3.

For her first solo exhibition in Europe, Liao Wen (1994, Chengdu, China) interacts with the space through site-specific works that create a total work of art which enables the artist to explore the relationship between body, ritual, myth and collective imagination. Aesthetic and ethical socio-cultural paradigms linked to the sense of disgust, shame and abjection are overturned by the artist, who allows them to be understood as the latent and germinating stage of a new feeling.

The new series of works by Mevlana Lipp (1989, Cologne, Germany) combines the worlds of flora, fauna and biology. These elements, which the artist considers as leitmotifs of his artistic production and his private dimension, are combined with architectural inspirations from Lipp's last trip to Venice. In Lipp's works, the languages of painting and sculpture are integrated to create compositions in which natural and anthropic architectures intersect.

Alessio de Girolamo (1980, Sanremo) presents his solo exhibition Real Time. Through a new declination of the software developed with LIM - Department of Musical Informatics of the University of Milan State University - the everyday and urban dimensions are used as a real orchestra in which scores of classical music are played in real time through the movement of people in the public space of the Biennale Arte 2024, in a continuous cross-reference between random and coded, natural and artificial dimensions.
