On Saturday, January 18, 2025, Labs Contemporary Art will open the exhibition Observatorium by Elisabeth Scherffig.
This marks the first time the German artist, born in Düsseldorf in 1949, will showcase her work at the Bologna-based venue. The exhibition features around twenty pieces dating from the 1970s to the present, exploring Scherffig's creative methodology.
A meticulous observer of her surroundings—whether natural, urban, organic, or inorganic—Scherffig uses drawing, casting, and sculpture to investigate her environment. The exhibition is curated by art historian Angela Madesani.
