Greta Schödl. 70 Year of work

Richard Saltoun Gallery hosts the solo show by Greta Schödl: 70 Years of Work. Schödl is considered one of the most significant living artists working in the field of Visual Poetry, with a practice that spans more than seven decades and continues to redefine the relationship between language, material and meaning.

Using materials such as gold leaf, embroidery and layers of text on surfaces such as handmade paper, books, personal letters and household objects (ironing boards, pillowcases), Schödl creates a bridge between the personal and the universal.

Her works challenge the boundaries between text and image, affirming personal identity and commenting on the limits and possibilities of language itself.

Today, at age ninety-five, Schödl continues to work in her studio in Bologna.
