Jerry Zeniuk. Il colore

From November 29, 2025, to February 15, 2026, the museum Mirad'Or in Pisogne, on the Lago d'Iseo (Brescia, Italy), will host the exhibition Jerry Zeniuk. Il colore curated by Simona Spinella, with the supervision and the coordination by Flaminio Gualdoni and Marco Lagorio:
a ten-work itinerary with three unpublished works to trace the research of the known artist Jerry Zeniuk (Bardowick-Germania, 1945), who's always been interested in painting as a means of spiritual practice.

"Today, painting is free. [...] – reflects the artist –. If you immerse yourself in the image for a few minutes, you can have personal experiences that are not sentimental, not evoked by clichés, but come from within the viewer. It is a very meditative and pure process, which is entirely comparable to a religious experience."

Starting from this reflection, the exhibition invites visitors to rediscover the pictorial language of Jerry Zeniuk, an artist who trained in the United States and Europe, whose work is part of the tradition of fundamental painting, based on the search for primary pictorial elements and the investigation of color as an autonomous and spiritual experience, capable of speaking directly to the viewer's emotions.

The exhibition is divided between the spaces of Mirad'Or, a pavilion built on the waters of Lake Iseo, and the Romanino church in Pisogne, creating a dialogue between space, light, and color.
Among the works on display is Untitled No. 85 (1981), a clear expression of fundamental painting, in which the meditative dimension of color is manifested in the tension between expansion and containment, and the pigments seem to be held back by the material itself. Also important is the large canvas Untitled (2001), whose marks appear to be freely arranged on the surface, creating an illusory environment in the sacred space of the church, an invitation to lose oneself in color for an intimate, universal, and spiritual experience.

Over the past 40 years, Jerry Zeniuk has developed an independent body of work centered on color and its numerous expressive possibilities. In the exhibition presented by Mirad'Or, color represents emotion expressed through structure and form, where points—a primary geometric concept—take on symbolic and conceptual value, the matrix of form and visual thought.
