Contemporary artArt Exhibitions in Venezia
GAD - Giudecca Art District in Venice hosts "Fulgurales", Luca Reffo's solo exhibition, conceived in dialogue with the One Contemporary Art space, an exceptional space recovered at the beginning of the twentieth century on the first floor of the Giudecca maritime craft complex. The exhibition presents a selection of recent works and new productions that reflect on the loss of balance in the contemporary world.
On a journey between past and present, between different cultures and contexts marked by collapses and loss of meaning, the artist accompanies us on the trail of lightning in a game of references, hyperbole and falsifications, on the winding path that "walks through things" . The cycle of works on display, including paintings, drawings, photographs and site specific interventions, aims to investigate the symbol of lightning intended as a universal meteorological apparition of the supernatural, at the origin of the unknown attitudes of the inorganic.
The paintings, conceived around the quality of the light expressed by the electric discharge that inhabits the landscape outside and inside us, are tinged with the colors of silver and the rainbow, with blinding light and the depth of the void, telling of an instantly immobilized world, ruled by lightning and destined to become other than himself.
The Luca Reffo: Fulgurales exhibition is part of THE_SPACE_WE_LIVE_IN, program of GAD 2021.
A review, a rich series of 12 exhibitions, talks, performances, curatorial projects, installations, scheduled in the spaces of GAD from 21 May to the end of December, involving and connecting the various expressive mediums of contemporary art with the study of architectural space .
The "Space in which we live" understood in the physical sense, of the Cartesian place of living in the house or the city, in contemporary times and in recent history, the "know-how" as a means of preserving cultural identity and at the same time as the main means of progress and response to the emergencies of the current century.
But at the same time extending the meaning of "The space in which we live" to the anthropic dimension, understood as the relationship between human and human being, in the social and political codification of coexistence, and finally understood as the study of the relationship between man and nature, both in intimate dimension of being, of the continuous and constant relationship between action and reaction, between development and eco-sustainability.
