From 15 April to 30 May 2025, Cadogan Gallery continues its exhibition programme by presenting Architettura e Utopia, Ramón Enrich's first solo exhibition at the gallery's Milan venue. Through a selection of works ranging in media, style and influences, the Catalan artist introduces a new phase in his artistic research, aimed at the creation of an increasingly abstract landscape, where colour becomes the key element in defining the space of the artwork.
Through plays on geometry and atmospheres between the surreal and the metaphysical, Enrich combines architecture and art on canvas, offering glimpses of mysterious ideal cities and dreamlike, timeless scenarios. Between memory and dream, Enrich's art is not exhausted in the practice of painting or sculpture, but rather merges and combines various media, creating a hybrid proposal balanced between the abstract and the figurative. While his canvases express a sense of mysterious stillness and suspension, his sculptures are characterised by a lively dynamism, capable of recreating an almost hypnotic effect.
In Architettura e Utopia Enrich presents sculptures, paintings and large compositions that take up some of the founding elements of his production, such as the architectural subject, the poetry of landscape and memory. Cadogan hosts ten small-format works in which the landscape is defined by means of rationalist architecture, which, together with their shadows and the emptiness that surrounds them, become the main protagonists of the canvases. The exhibition also includes five abstract works in which pictorial space is delineated by the geometric element of the diagonal and the use of colour.
Although the inspiration comes from different contexts, all the works in the exhibition unite and develop harmoniously, revealing a deep and meditative thought, in which the memory of architecture and its elements takes tangible form, a utopia that transcends time.
Ramón Enrich (1968, Igualada, Spagna) attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Barcelona. His works are held in numerous public and private collections, including those of David Hockney, Donald Judd and the Fondation Hermès.
