ACP - Palazzo Franchetti

ACP - Palazzo Franchetti opens its permanent collection to the public, set up in the rooms on the first floor of the Palazzo overlooking the Grand Canal.

The collection presents the works of some of the greatest protagonists of twentieth century art, giving the visitor the opportunity to immerse themselves in the fascinating atmospheres of the twentieth century.

In the first room, the surrealist paintings by René Magritte and Paul Delvaux interact with the archaic representations of Marino Marini and with the abstract art of Paul Klee.

The works of Giacomo Manzù, Gino Severini, Graham Sutherland and Massimo Campigli mark the path that leads to a room entirely dedicated to the evocative and enigmatic power of Giorgio de Chirico's metaphysical paintings.

The itinerary then continues with the masterpieces of the masters of the European Informal and Abstract Expressionism, such as Leoncillo, Georges Mathieu, Sam Francis and Franz Kline. The conference room houses the engravings of Giorgio Morandi, still lifes recalled in a contemporary key by the ceramics of the artist Sissi, also present in the collection with his photographs from the "Dinners" series.

Among contemporary artists, Pablo Echaurren who expresses a free creativity, in the name of contamination between genres.

At the end of the artistic path of the exhibition, in the garden overlooking the Grand Canal, the bronze sculptures by Roberto Sebastian Matta stand out.

A miniature and permanent version of the great exhibition on the twentieth century, which was held on the noble floor of the Palazzo from October 2019 to October 2020.

Once again, in the splendid setting of ACP Palazzo Franchetti, the public has the opportunity to admire works that testify to the heterogeneity and richness of the 20th century artistic panorama.
