ExtrArtis, Artists Residencies for Creative Economy

ExtrArtis is a cultural event that aims to involve emerging artists through the experimentation of the practice of Artist Residency.
The project was created in order to enhance the cultural heritage less known, interpreting art as an engine of creativity for the tangible and intangible transformation of the places where it intervenes. 
The event will be held between May 2 and 16, 2022 at Relais La Rupe, a historic residence located in the town of Sorrento, in Campania. The participation to the call, available on the website www.extrartis.com, is applicable from August 1, 2021 to April 2, 2022. The event involves the selection of two emerging artists chosen by a jury of European relevance with previous experience in the art world. The selected artists will have the task of reinterpreting, through their creativity, the needs of our time and the genius loci, protecting and enhancing the sedimented cultural identities.
ExtrArtis aims to trigger virtuous processes of regeneration values by focusing on the development of scenarios of interconnection between people and places, activities and territories. 
The creative process of the artists will be supported by Art Coordination figures, including Raffaella Ferraro, with academic training of excellence, in order to allow a wide dissemination of the results of the event and the artistic restitution. 
The idea was born after years of research and was perfected following the victory as a finalist in the European competition Horizon 2020 - CLIC Project: Startup competition, during which ExtrArtis was found worthy in the top 9.
ExtrArtis, as its slogan "Artists Residencies for Creative Economy" states, responds with creativity and innovation to the challenges of our time, aiming to co-create and test sustainable human-centered innovations for circular cultural tourism, through collaborative innovation methodologies and improved strategies. These synergies of local cultural heritage innovation will be developed in conjunction with long-term experimentation aimed at improving value conditions and cooperation across borders.
