Jana Schröder fa il suo ritorno in galleria con una serie di nuovi dipinti monocromatici, come proseguimento della serie Kadlites.
In questi nuovi lavori la superficie pittorica viene ridotta per dare maggiore importanza al contenuto, lasciando spazio a una contaminazione di linee ripetute e stratificate, che conferiscono densità, ritmo e armonia.

Schröder ci presenta una pittura concettuale nella sua molteplicità d’azione, in cui la pratica gestuale costante diventa al contempo meditativa e performativa. Questi ‘segni di energia’ vengono marcati ripetutamente con la grafite e con il pennello, mescolando la trementina con polvere di piombo.
Attraverso cancellature di alcuni tratti per mezzo di una gomma o di ulteriore pittura, Schröder moltiplica poi i segni già tracciati, che così sconfinano in negativo in nuove direzioni.

La ripetizione è “memoria invertita”, sosteneva Kierkegaard, ossia è la produzione di qualcosa di nuovo, e non semplice riproduzione di ciò che già esiste. Così le opere di Schröder agiscono nel substrato dell’astrazione: i segni gestuali formano strati di livelli e diventano vere e proprie sperimentazioni. Queste tracce, temporali e spaziali, sono testimonianza dell’esperienza pittorica dell’artista. Le marcature invitano ad avvicinarsi alla tela, a studiare più da vicino le linee e le loro progressioni. Divengono una sfida percettiva per lo spettatore, che si trova di fronte a un’idea, trasportata energeticamente in pittura.

I confini tra disegno, scrittura e pittura appaiono ormai valicati. È il processo, la ripetizione del gesto, lo studio delle possibilità del divenire dell’opera e il superamento dei suoi limiti ciò che interessa all’artista. Il linguaggio segnico si espande sulla superficie della tela, nella quale non esiste un vero centro, andando quasi a sconfinare dallo spazio.

Jana Schröder returns to the gallery with a series of new monochrome paintings, a continuation of the Kadlites series. In these new works the pictorial surface is reduced in order to give a greater importance to the content, and it turns into a space for contamination of repeated and layered lines, that confer density, rhythm and harmony.

Schröder presents conceptual painting in its multiplicity of action, in which the constant gestural practice is both meditative and performative. These 'energy signs' are repeatedly marked by the graphite pencil and the brush, mixing the turpentine with lead powder. By erasing some traits by means of a rubber or another painting, Schröder then multiplies the previously traced signs, which cross over into new directions.

Repetition is "inverted memory", according to Kierkegaard, a production of something new, and not merely a reproduction of what already exists. The works of Schröder act in the substratum of abstraction: gestural signs form layers of levels and become actual experimentations. These temporal and spatial traces represent a record of the artist's pictorial experience. The marks invite you to get closer to the canvas, to study the lines and their progressions more closely. They become a perceptive challenge for the viewers, who find themselves in front of an idea that is being energetically translated into painting.

The boundaries between drawing, writing and painting appear to be already overcome. What the artist is interested in is the process, the repetition of the gesture, the study of the possibilities of the becoming of the work, as well as of the overcoming of its limits. The sign language expands on the surface of the canvas, in which the centre doesn’t exist anymore, and goes beyond the limits of the space.
