Giuliano Macca

Giuliano Macca was born in Noto in Sicily in 1988. He began his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome where he graduated in painting. His approach to the visual arts initially takes place through the world of Street Art and in 2016 his artistic performance I'm waiting for you on other Planets was presented at the MAAM (Museum of the Other and Elsewhere) in Rome. In September 2018 he inaugurated his first solo show at the Roman Mirabilia Art Gallery and at the end of the same year he joined Michele von Büren's team of artists in his Von Buren Contemporary gallery, at the time RvB Arts. In 2019 Macca holds his solo exhibition Crystal Hearts at RvB Arts and then participates in the collective Dissolvenze at the Diocesan Museum of Padua. In September 2020 he inaugurates the exhibition The solitude of the angels curated by Vittorio Sgarbi at Etra Studio Tommasi. In December of the same year, in the difficult period linked to the Covid-19 pandemic, it was the turn of the visionary representation in Castiglion Fiorentino, L'Abbraccio, which represents a passionate embrace printed on walkable paper covering an area of 1200 square meters at the foot of the renaissance Torre del Cassero. Become part of the Gowen Contemporary gallery in Geneva exhibiting for the first time in November 2021, in the group exhibition Escape Line II Drawings and Sculptures, with Hephaestus, a 5 m2 installation that represents the god of fire lying on the slopes of Etna , made with mixed media - watercolor and pen on paper - and then divided into 79 parts. Very active on social media, Macca has gained an exponential following around the world in recent years with over 118,000 followers on Instagram.
