Spazio Thetis presents "Solo per i miei Occhi", the new exhibition by Emilio Morandi set up in Tesa 106, at the Arsenale Novissimo.
The exhibition, which will remain visible to the public until 19 February 2023, is a focus by Morandi focused on his personal reading of the great writer Franz Kafka.
Emilio Morandi's attention paid to a character like Kafka is the result of feeling similar in many respects in terms of common experience, which then translates concretely and visually into the realization of this exhibition.
The works of Emilio Morandi are inspired by the most contradictory aspects of the writer, who has gone down in history for dealing with issues concerning alienation and conflicts, the complexity of the mind and metamorphosis, despite being in his most intimate life, a calm and endowed with a particular sense of humour.
The exhibited works consist of dozens of painted sheets in which writings and phrases appear, sometimes legible or not, interrupted by lines and graphic signs that mark the reading and lead the eye of the beholder in a shared dance inside the communicative power of Kafka's sentences. Emilio Morandi reworks and reinforces the communicative power of the writing of a great 20th century author through sign and color, in a series of works that tell about eternal and always current themes.
With this exhibition Morandi plunges into his personal poetics, fusing Art and Life in a continuous flow of sounds, objects, actions, human and matter.
Contemporary artist of international caliber, performer, experimenter of various expressions such as painting, installation, video art, Emilio Morandi boasts a sixty-year career in which he has crossed the art of Fluxus, Mail Art, Neoism, Visual Poetry, to then participate in the Venice Biennale, collaborating with the VEC of Maastricht, devising numerous festivals and participating in exhibitions on every continent, managing to create networks of connection with other territories scattered around the world. Indeed, thanks to experimentation with mail art, using images, postcards, poetic phrases, performative gestures, postal collages, explicit and coded messages, interweaving of messages, Morandi is among the few artists who has been able to relate to others and build relational networks .
