Galleria d'arte moderna - San Marino

The state collection of Modern and Contemporary Art consists of about 750 works, historically placed between the first decades of the twentieth century and the present day and divided into different types of artistic expression: paintings, drawings, watercolors, sculptures, photographs.

Acquired by donation or through the “purchase prize” formula, bought or commissioned directly from the artists, all the works testify to the long activity carried out by this institute in the field of contemporary artistic expression.

So alongside the works of internationally renowned and prestigious artists, such as those by Renato Guttuso, Corrado Cagli, Emilio Vedova, Achille Perilli, Enzo Mari, Enzo Cucchi, Sandro Chia, Gian Marco Montesano, Luigi Ontani, the collection includes the works of artists "emerging", often less known and quoted, but which contribute to documenting the great creative vitality and complexity of contemporary artistic production.

The permanent exhibition site of the collection is now located in the Gallery in via Eugippo, in the historic center of San Marino, which is currently undergoing renovation.
