In the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca, at certain times of the day, light seems to come alive.
It transforms every street corner and weaves its way between faces.
Dazzling and bewitching, it reveals the mysteries of the moment.
Suddenly, enigmatic silhouettes emerge from the shadows, mingling strangely with the intimate details of everyday life.

(Frédéric Loward)
Biography
Born in Brussels, Frédéric Loward began his career as a graphic designer. He went on to become art director and then creative director for international advertising agencies in Belgium, the Czech Republic and Italy, developing campaigns and strategies for clients large and small. His career has given his photos a graphic dimension, rich in color and a certain rigor for composition.
Over the next two decades, he spent time abroad in Madagascar, Haiti, and Latin America. He dedicated himself to communication photography.
He worked for various NGOs and international organizations.
He leaves for Madagascar as a volunteer for the World Food Program, where he was asked to cover the famine in the southern region. This self-taught experience, which he considers his greatest human adventure, marks the beginning of his career as a photographer. As a humanitarian photographer, Frédéric Loward strives to capture life and witness the living conditions of those most in need. He skillfully combines his artistic talent with a deep empathy for the human condition to tell authentic stories. He is in search of a photograph that is intriguing, enigmatic, and instinctive, but always linked to a human connection. He finds his style through intuitive photography.
He is doing a workshop with Alex Webb & Rebecca Norris Webb on "Finding your vision "after also doing a Magnum Intensive Course in Documentary Photography in 2017 at the London College of Communication with the Magnum agency.
