At the end of January, a new completely flexible space dedicated to research, memory and innovation will be inaugurated to host Triennale's Centro studi (research center), reactivated after 70 years, and the institution's archive – 300,000 drawings, projects, photos, letters and texts, all digitized.
Throughout 2024, several monographic exhibitions will be organized to provide a deeper understanding of leading figures in the fields of design, architecture and fashion. These include the exhibition on Alessandro Mendini (curated by Fulvio Irace, April 13 – October 13) in collaboration with Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain, the exhibition on Gae Aulenti (curated by Giovanni Agosti, with Nina Artioli and Nina Bassoli, May–October) in collaboration with the Gae Aulenti Archives, the exhibition on Roberto Sambonet (curated by Enrico Morteo, May– September) on the centenary of his birth, and that on Elio Fiorucci (curated by Judith Clark, October 2024–February 2025).
Inside the Impluvium space, again in collaboration with Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain, will find space an unprecedented tribute to Alessandro Mendini (April 13 – October 13, 2024) conceived, designed and directed by Philippe Starck, among the most brilliant creators and thinkers of our time, who shared several creative and professional experiences with Mendini.
The study and research work on Ettore Sottsass will also continue with the fifth instalment of the cycle of exhibitions around the permanent installation of Casa Lana (curated by Marco Sammicheli, in collaboration with Barbara Radice, and
Iskra Grisogono from Studio Sottsass, May 2024 – January 2025) and the photographic exhibition Mise en scène (curated by Studio Sottsass with Micaela Sessa, November 2024 – January 2025).

The Museo del Design Italiano will be the focus of activities and specific events aimed at a variety of audiences: study days, meetings, guided tours, and workshops for children and families. In the last section of the museum, the Design Platform – which opened in April 2023 as a venue for temporary exhibitions with a focus on contemporary design – will host two exhibitions on the work of two internationally renowned designers: French designer Inga Sempé (curated by Marco Sammicheli, April – September) and fashion designer Monica Bolzoni (curated by Marco Sammicheli October 2024 – January 2025).
As in the past, Triennale Milano will be one of the main venues for Milan Design Week (April 16 – 21, 2024). On this occasion, the long-standing collaboration with the Salone del Mobile di Milano will be take the form of an exhibition dedicated to SaloneSatellite (April 16 –28, 2024), the international project conceived and coordinated by Marva Griffin Wilshire to promote under-35 design, and which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
A new partnership has been established with Kiton with whom Triennale is working on a training project based on the experience of the Tailoring School founded by company from Naples in 2000. In January, during Milan Fashion Week, an exhibition co-produced by Triennale and Kiton (curated by Luca Stoppini, January 12 –16, 2024) will be presented, accompanied by a series of events aimed at raising awareness of a positive model that can be replicated in other contexts.
